Bhagwant Singh Mann (born on 17 October 1973) is an Indian politician who is the 17th and current Chief Minister of Punjab. He leads the cabinet ministry of Punjab. He is a former actor, comedian and satirist. He previously served two terms as the Member of parliament from Lok Sabha representing Sangrur constituency, Punjab from 2014 until his resignation in 2022. Early life Mann was born in a Sikh family on 17 October, 1973 to father Mohinder Singh and mother Harpal Kaur in Satoj village of Sangrur district, Punjab, India. He pursued his graduation from Shaheed Udham Singh Government College, Sunam. Acting career Mann participated in youth comedy festivals and inter-college competitions. He won two gold medals at a competition at the Punjabi University, Patiala for the Shaheed Udham Singh Government College, Sunam. Mann developed comedy routines about typical Indian issues such as politics, business and sport. His first comedy album was with comedian Jagtar Jaggi. Together, they
